End of the Year Review

Wow! As I look back over 2025 and all that God has done, I am beyond amazed! What began as a group of eight adults and four children interested in an Ephesians Bible Study has now grown into a growing group of 21 adults and 12 children which make up the core team of Redeemer Baptist Church that Lord willing will constitute in a short number of months. All glory be to Christ our king! May He be pleased to add to our team as He establishes another golden lampstand in Asheboro, NC.

December has been a busy month! I met with Pastor James Sharp from Life Church in Salisbury, NC who has a member commuting from Randolph County to church that he has connected us with. I had breakfast with the husband of that family last week and he attended our most recent Sunday evening worship gathering. From our conversations, they are interested in being part and plan to attend this coming Sunday evening worship. May the Lord bless this relationship and this family as He leads them.

I was also blessed with the opportunity to present the church plant at a pastor’s cohort in Mebane, NC on December 9th as well as the Durham Pillar Regional Luncheon on December 17th. Thank you, Pastor Jones Ndzi and Pastor Andy Wynn, for the invitation to share about the work, I am greatly encouraged by the relationships the Lord has provided through these opportunities. At the beginning of the year, Pastor Travis Bodine kindly gave me the opportunity to preach and present the work at Mt Olive Baptist Church in Pittsboro, NC. The Lord seems to be smiling on our efforts.

Personal

We had a wonderful Christmas! I was able to take an entire week off work and enjoy much needed time with my dear wife and children. I found myself playing with my oldest daughter’s gifts as much as she did. Running a business to support a family and church planting is busy work which makes times like this all the sweeter.

We were also able to get together with distant family during the Christmas season. I enjoyed time with my parents and siblings and their families, and we enjoyed getting together with Brittany’s family as well. Please pray that the Lord would save our lost relatives.

Upcoming Events

Our schedule keeps filling up. I am scheduled to graduate from my NC Baptist Church Planter Training next week.

I am privileged to present an update to our sending church, Grace Reformed Baptist Church, Wednesday evening, January 28th. They have been and continue to be our biggest supporters.

I am scheduled to present an update regarding the church plant at the Guilford Pillar Regional Luncheon on February 3rd. Pray that the Lord would bless that meeting as we are still seeking funding during this season.

Lord willing, we will begin core team preparation near the beginning of February. Pray for clarity of mind and unity as we take our next steps towards constituting.

Prayer Needs

The Lord has blessed us with the use of a free facility on Sunday evenings until we constitute, but as we look forward to transitioning to Sunday mornings in the coming months, we are in need of a space to use for worship. In God’s providence we have been connected with a local church two blocks from where we presently meet that may allow us to use their fellowship hall on Sunday mornings. I should know more in the next few weeks. We know the Lord will supply this need, please pray that He may use this connection to do so.

Please pray for our group as we transition into core team preparation. The Lord has blessed us with many people from diverse backgrounds and church experiences. May He continue to unify us in the truth.

For the cause of Christ,

Blake
