February Review
February was a busy month. We were able to continue to make some connections with other local churches by presenting an update at the Guilford Pillar Luncheon on February 3rd where some new churches were represented that were not familiar with us. In God’s kindness we are expecting prayer and financial support from some who attended that.
We began a monthly men’s Breakfast Bible Study, on Friday, February 13th in which ten men attended. In it, we are studying the basics of the Christian faith. My hope is that we will grow in our Christian walk together and create an opportunity for leadership to naturally reveal itself. May the Lord use this for the building up of the body of Christ.
On our Sunday evening worship gatherings, we continued and completed our study of 1 Timothy on February 22nd. This has been a rich book which has proved to be foundational as we step into charter member preparation in March. May the Lord do the work of planting Redeemer Baptist Church through the preaching of His Word.
Personal
This month has proven to test our immune systems. Like many at this time, sickness has taken its course through our household, but in God’s kindness, I believe the worst of it is behind us. My wife Brittany is doing well. She is a true blessing to me, and I am grateful for her daily sacrifice of caring for our family so well, especially in the busyness of this planting season.
Life has continued to prove challenging during this season as we are continuing on this church planting journey plus preparing for my son’s (Levi) 1st birthday in early March, spring soccer for my oldest daughter (Ruby), and trying to get all my business affairs in order as I plan to transition into full time vocational ministry for Redeemer Baptist Church in the coming months.
God has kindly provided for my family and me through a residential remodeling business that my dad and I started a decade ago. I have learned so much and will miss some aspects of the day-to-day duties which I have enjoyed, and the precious time I have had with my dad, but I am convinced the Lord would have me transition away from this as we seek to constitute in just a few months. May the Lord bless this transition and continue to bless the business as I step away from this role which has so impacted my life.
Upcoming Events
Sunday, March 1st, we plan to begin our weekly charter member 10-week preparation series in which we will study our confession, constitution, covenant, and then have some sermons on meaningful church membership. May the Lord bless this time and clarify those He would have be founding members of Redeemer Baptist Church.
We also have a scheduled budget meeting for 2026 for our core team near the end of March. Please pray for unity on this matter, and a continued growing support from our group as Lord willing, we will plant soon.
I am scheduled to preach at Grace Reformed Baptist Church of Mebane (our sending church) Sunday morning March 22nd and then First Baptist Church Haw River Sunday morning March 29th. May the Lord bless the preaching of His Word.
Prayer Needs
Please keep praying for us as we continue to seek a home for Redeemer Baptist Church. As I mentioned in an earlier newsletter, there is a facility near the center of our target area in Asheboro, with ample room, owned by an aging church that may be willing to allow us to use part of their facility at low cost. But with it being an aging church, getting in touch with the proper contact has proven to be difficult. But we have finally connected with the right people and have been working through the appropriate channels of their process for something like this, so please pray that the Lord may use this as an answer to prayer.
As we look forward to beginning our charter member preparation, please pray for unity among the group. Pray that the Lord may help those who are unsure of this, and for those who desire to be part to take seriously this matter of membership in one of Christ churches.
Please continue to pray that the Lord will supply the financial needs that church planting presents. I am amazed at how He has supplied thus far and can’t wait to see how He will continue to do so. May the Lord us our feeble efforts to make His great name known.
For the cause of Christ,
Blake
